*Terms and Conditions of Cash Account Welcome Offer

  1. Cash Account Welcome Offer (“Welcome Offer”) is provided and coordinated by SHK Online (Securities) Limited (“SHKOS”), a member of the Everbright Sun Hung Kai group (“EBSHK”). SHKOS operates under “EBSHK Direct”, a sub-brand of EBSHK.
  2. The promotion period of the Welcome Offer starts from 1 August 2017 and ends on 29 December 2017, both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period”).
  3. The Welcome Offer is only applicable to new customers (“New Customer”) who fulfil the following conditions: (i) did not have an individual or joint trading account maintained with any member company of EBSHK or its subsidiaries in the 12 months preceding the effective date of account opening; (ii) were not a beneficial owner of any corporate trading account maintained with any member company of EBSHK or its subsidiaries during the aforesaid period; (iii) successfully opens an individual or joint securities cash account with EBSHK Direct during the Promotion Period; and (iv) provides all necessary documents for account opening application (including the documents listed in the table under Clause 7).
  4. The New Customer must provide a cheque in the amount of HK$10,000 or above, which must be honourable subsequently.
  5. During the first 6 months after the New Customer’s securities trading account is opened with EBSHK Direct, the New Customer will enjoy a commission waiver of up to HK$5,000 for buying or selling HK Shares, Shenzhen A Shares or Shanghai A Shares. The New Customer will be required to pay the full commission first, that is, (i) 0.138% of the transaction amount for HK Shares, minimum charge of HK$88 per transaction; and (ii) 0.138% of transaction amount for Shenzhen A Shares and Shanghai A Shares, minimum charge of RMB88 per transaction.Please click here for the details of fees and charges of the above products. The commission fee refund will be credited in Hong Kong dollar to the relevant account of the New Customer according to the schedule stated in the table below, on the condition that the account is still valid at the time such crediting is processed.

  6. During the period from the 7th to the 12th month after the securities trading account is opened with EBSHK Direct, the New Customer can enjoy preferential commission rates when buying or selling HK Shares, Shenzhen A Shares or Shanghai A Shares, that is, (i) 0.068% of the transaction amount for buying or selling HK Shares, minimum charge of HK$38 per transaction; and (ii) 0.068% of the transaction amount for buying or selling Shenzhen A Shares and Shanghai A Shares, minimum charge of RMB38 per transaction.
  7. The New Customer should refer to the following table for documents (original copies required) necessary for account opening:

  8. The Gift Certificate cannot be exchanged for other gifts or cash. The remaining unused Gift Certificate balance cannot be used and will be deemed as forfeited. Gift Certificate is available while stock lasts.
  9. The service or product to which the Gift Certificate is entitled is provided by SOGO Hong Kong Co., Ltd (“SOGO”). Everbright Sun Hung Kai and EBSHK Direct are not the service or product supplier and therefore shall not bear any responsibility related to the Gift Certificate or the service or product to which the Gift Certificate is entitled. Any dispute in relation to the Gift Certificate or the service or product to which the Gift Certificate is entitled shall be resolved between SOGO and New Customer.

  11. The Welcome Offer does not include non-brokerage commission fee items chargeable at the time of buy or sell transactions, including but not limited to, interests, fees for nominee services and all statutory or third-party transaction charges, which include transaction levies, stamp duty, trading fees and settlement fees where applicable.
  12. The Welcome Offer is not applicable to corporate and institutional customers, and staff, agents and investment consultants of EBSHK. The Welcome Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers.
  13. Transactions in Renminbi (RMB) are subject to exchange rate risk. Fluctuations in the exchange rate of RMB may result in losses in the event that the customer subsequently converts RMB into another currency (including Hong Kong Dollars). Exchange controls imposed by the relevant authorities may also adversely affect the applicable exchange rate. RMB is currently not freely convertible and conversion of RMB may be subject to certain policy, regulatory requirements and/or restrictions (which are subject to changes from time to time without notice). The actual conversion arrangement will depend on the policy, regulatory requirements and/or restrictions prevailing at the relevant time.
  14. “HK Shares” refer to securities listed on Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited.
  15. “Shanghai A Shares” refer to stocks eligible for Northbound trading under the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect programme ie selected stocks listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), including all constituent stocks from time to time of the SSE 180 Index and SSE 380 Index and all SSE-listed A shares that are not included as constituent stocks of the relevant indices but which have corresponding H shares listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, except: i) SSE-listed A shares which are not traded in RMB and ii) SSE-listed A shares which are included in the “risk alert board”.
  16. “A-Shares” means securities issued by companies incorporated in the Mainland which are listed and traded on the Mainland A Share markets (Shanghai and Shenzhen) and not on the SEHK.
  17. The Welcome Offer is not applicable to corporate and institutional customers, and staff, agents and Investment Consultants of EBSHK. The Welcome Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers.
  18. SHKOS reserves the rights to suspend, amend or terminate the Offer and any of the terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. In case of disputes, the decision of EBSHK shall be final and binding.
  19. In case of disputes, EBSHK reserves the right to make the final decision, which will be binding for all parties concerned.
  20. Investment involves risk. Before making any investment decisions, investors should carefully consider their own circumstances, risk tolerance level, investment experience and investment objectives. Investors should not base any of their investment decisions on the benefits of the Offer alone. If investors are in doubt, they should seek independent professional advice.
  21. Each product has its own distinct characteristics, risk and terms. Investors MUST peruse and understand the terms and conditions of relevant products before entering into any transactions.
