Touch ID Login

What is Touch ID Login?

Touch ID is a fingerprint recognition feature designed and owned by Apple Inc. Touch ID allows you to use your fingerprint registered on your mobile device instead of Login ID and Password to securely login to eMO!.

What will I need in order to use Touch ID Login?

To use Touch ID Login, you will need to:

  • have a valid EBSHK online trading account;
  • install eMO! on your mobile device;
  • activate the Touch ID function on your mobile device and register at least one of your fingerprints to control access to your mobile device; and
  • comply with the eMO! Fingerprint Authentication Login Terms.

You may refer to Apple’s guidelines on enabling Touch ID and registering fingerprints on your device.

What are the system requirements for using Touch ID Login?

  • iPhone 5s or later, iPad (5th generation), iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 3 or later
  • iOS 9.0 or above
  • Above devices with Touch ID enabled and fingerprint registered

To protect your account, Touch ID Login cannot be enabled on devices without security control (ie “jailbroken” or “rooted”). Please use eMO! on devices with factory-set configuration.

Can I use Touch ID Login on my Android devices?

No. Touch ID Login is only available for particular Apple devices. You may refer to the system requirements for using Touch ID Login for details.

How can I enable Touch ID Login?

There are two ways to enable Touch ID Login.

Method 1:

  1. Go to login page in eMO!. Tap “Enable Touch ID”. Login to your account.
  2. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions regarding the use of Touch ID Login.
  3. Enter the One-Time PIN (OTP) which is sent to your registered mobile phone via SMS.

Method 2:

  1. Go to “Settings” after logging into eMO!.
  2. Turn on “Touch ID Login”.
  3. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions regarding the use of Touch ID Login.
  4. Enter the One-Time PIN (OTP) which is sent to your registered mobile phone via SMS.

After enabling the service, the next time you login to the app you will be able to log into eMO! using your fingerprint.

How can I disable Touch ID Login?

To disable Touch ID Login, please go to “Settings” after logging into eMO!. Turn off “Touch ID Login”.

Why was my Touch ID Login disabled automatically?

Touch ID Login will be disabled automatically under any of the following circumstances:

  • Another account has been logged in on your device.
  • The password was changed via our websites.
  • The account is blocked due to repeated failed login attempts.
  • Touch ID Login fail for 3 times

Can I still use password to login after enabling Touch ID Login?

Yes. You can disable Touch ID Login and choose to login with password to your account.

Is the Touch ID Login secure?

Touch ID Login leverages Apple’s Touch ID technology to authenticate your identity to access your EBSHK account. Neither eMO! nor EBSHK stores your fingerprint information during the authentication process. To prevent unauthorised third parties from enabling Touch ID Login, you will have to enter a One-Time PIN which is sent to your registered mobile phone number during the activation process. You may refer to Apple’s website about Touch ID for details.

Will my fingerprints be collected by EBSHK?

No. EBSHK will not collect any data of your fingerprints. The data is used only by the system to verify whether your fingerprint matches the registered fingerprints on your device.

Will all the fingerprints stored in my device be able to access to my EBSHK account?

Yes. Any fingerprint registered for Touch ID in your device can be used to login to eMO!. You are strongly recommended not to enable Touch ID Login if you have stored other people's fingerprints in your device.

What can I do if I lost my Touch ID-enabled device?

If you have lost your device, please change your login password on our websites immediately. Touch ID Login will then be disabled automatically.
