1: Do I have to pay any fee to open an account?

No, you don’t have to pay any fee to have your account opened. However, fees are involved when you use our services after opening your account. For details, please refer to our latest service fee guide:https://www.ebshkdirect.com/fees


Before submitting the online application

1: Can I save my application details? What is the function of the“Save” button?

You can click the “Save” button at any time when you are entering information in the application form to back up the details you entered so that you can resume the application process without having to fill in the information all over again. However, you are recommended to complete and submit the application form at your earliest convenience so that we can process it accordingly.

2: Where is the“Submit” button?

You will find a “Submit” button at the top of the review page after you have finished inputting the details.


After submitting the online application

1: What supporting documents should be submitted?

Our staff will contact you once we have received and verified your application. Meanwhile, please prepare these supporting documents: (i) photocopy of proof of identification (e.g. your HKID card or passport); (ii) original copy of proof of residential address showing account holder name and dated within the last three months (e.g. government bill, utility bill or bank statement, etc.); and (iii) a cheque made payable to “SHK Online (Securities) Limited” issued by you and drawn on your account with a licensed bank in Hong Kong in a sum of not less than HK$10,000, which is for authentication purposes, as well as will serve as initial deposit to the account if it is successfully opened and be refunded in full if not opened eventually. Remark 1:
Declaration statement or deed poll must be provided if the holder of Hong Kong identity card’s reported name has been changed since first registration.

Remark 2:
If you are not able to provide the cheque as required (a cheque in the amount of no less than HK$10,000 bearing the Client’s name as shown in the identity document and drawn on the Client’s bank account with a licensed bank in Hong Kong with the Client’s authorized signature), you have to provide the proof of witness signed by *certifier

In this case, please also provide:
1.Proof of *certifier's qualification
2.Business card of *certifier
3.Signature and seal on Section F Certification Column of Account application form by *certifier
4.Signature and seal on the copy of Hong Kong Identity Card by *certifier
5.Signature and seal on the copy of residential address proof by *certifier

*Certifier includes lawyer/Justice of the Peace/branch manager of a licensed bank/certified public accountant (practising)/notary public

 

2: When should I submit the documents?

Our staff will contact and go through with you all your submitted details to ensure they are accurate. Afterwards,
please print the application form on single-sided A4 paper, and mail the signed application form along with required documents to us.

3: How can I know if my application is successfully submitted?

After your application is successfully submitted, you will see a confirmation page as follows:

4: How can I check my application status?

Go to “Check Application Status” in Account Opening. Enter your mobile number provided in the application form to check your application status. You can also call us at +852 3920 2087 during office hours.

5: Can I still make changes to or withdraw my application after it has been submitted?

No, once the application is submitted, you cannot make changes to or withdraw it by yourself online, yet you can do so by calling us at +852 3920 2087.

6: Why do I need to submit a $10,000 cheque along with the application?

With Remote Account Opening, you are saved the hassle of opening an account in person. The cheque serves as confirmation of your identity and that the application form was filled in by you. Therefore, please make sure the signatures on the printed application form and the cheque are identical. As stated above, the money will be used as initial deposit to your account. For more details of the account opening documents, please refer to Q1 in this section.

7: What can I do if I am not able to print the application form and/or mail the application form and required documents?
